Wexford, PA (PRWEB) - MHF Services (MHF), a leading provider of packaging, transportation, logistics and technical services, has to date completed approximately 150 shipments amounting to nearly 15,000 tons of radiological and hazardous wastes from an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Superfund Site in the Northeastern United States to a disposal facility in the Western U.S.

The waste materials include Unimportant Quantities Source Material (UQSM), classified as a radiological waste, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) or Non-RCRA material, classified as a hazardous waste.

Working under a prime contractor to the United States Army Corps of Engineers, MHF is providing a dedicated fleet of 65 railcars and managing rail logistics, holding the contract with the serving railroad and scheduling, tracking and reporting on shipments. MHF is also providing liners for the railcars as well as a trackmobile for on-site movement of the railcars during loading.

The project is ongoing and is expected to continue through March 2015.
