Municipality Of Puebla Initiates Emissions Free Waste Management Solution
Mayor Gali Works to Eliminate Landfills and Incineration in Puebla
Puebla, MX - The Municipality of Puebla has spent the past few years looking globally for the best municipal solid waste (“MSW”) management solution to replace its landfills and incinerators. Under the leadership of Mayor Tony Gali, with a mandate to secure long term sustainable growth for Puebla, the City has identified a potential solution for its MSW. Mayor Gali and his team were introduced months ago to a zero emissions waste optimization plant (Z.E.W.O.P. TM) developed by TransAct Energy Corp. a USA company. The City authorized TransAct to contract an independent engineering firm to review the Z.E.W.O.P. TM for Puebla. Fichtner Consulting Engineers of Stuttgart Germany specialists in infrastructure projects and MSW systems was selected to complete a full study. The engineering review includes “Front End Engineering Design” (FEED), mass and energy, preliminary layout, services interconnect, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) and the engineering report with final recommendations.
The full study is a month away from completion and early results indicate the Z.E.W.O.P. TMtechnology will be capable of processing Puebla MSW into 100% useable products without emissions to land, water or air.
The technologies incorporated into the Z.E.W.O.P. TM are primarily commercially available however the process is entirely unique which assumes an element of risk. However the City of Puebla will assume none of this risk as TransAct will be entirely responsible for owning and operating the proposed $120M USD plant.
“We are excited for a future where our trash becomes a resource and benefits our community” says Mayor Gali. “We set out to find a long term solution to our landfills not a band aid and believe we have done exactly that. The TransAct Z.E.W.O.P. TM will cost us nothing, we can use our existing collection infrastructure and each plant will create approximately 125 new jobs. TransAct has proposed two plants for the Municipality of Puebla to cover our existing volume of MSW and allow for growth. We of course will go through the appropriate municipal process after the engineering review to adopt this technology into our community.”
