VA Hospital Awards Hazardous Waste Services Contract To Medasend Biomedical, Inc.

Medasend Biomedical, Inc. will become the hazardous waste and medical waste services provider for Chula Vista VA (Veterans Affairs) Hospital, part of the San Diego VA Healthcare System (VASDHS), the healthcare services company announced on Monday.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) - The deal will provide the Chula Vista, California VA clinic with a complete suite of hazardous, pharmaceutical and medical waste management services to be fully integrated in July by Medasend's compliance technicians.

"After speaking with the staff at Chula Vista VA, our compliance staff quickly understood the needs of the clinic and we proposed how we could help streamline the way they manage and dispose of their hazardous and medical waste," said Risa Grand, M.D., Medasend's VP of Health Services. "Our waste management plan not only helps the hospital save money, but makes the jobs of each of its staff members much easier when it comes to pharmaceutical waste disposal, hazardous and medical waste disposal."

Utilized by southern California hospitals, healthcare facilities, dental clinics and veterinarian clinics, Medasend’s hazardous waste services includes disposal of medical and biohazardous waste, pharmaceutical waste, reusable sharps waste services, waste segregation and consulting and disposal of RCRA and hazardous waste.

In addition to the Chula Vista location, VASDHS operates two other Veteran Affairs centers in San Marcos and San Diego.
