CMI Corporation, Environmental Machinery business unit was started in December of 1997 when CMI purchased the waste processing product lines from Rexworks® Inc. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

CMI has been marketing heavy machinery since 1964. The Environmental Machinery business unit is headquartered at the main CMI plant, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. In this plant, the entire line of Waste Recycling Grinders, Landfill Compactors and Soil/Embankment Compactors are designed and manufactured. This CMI plant is located on 40 acres and includes nearly one million square feet of manufacturing floor under one roof. CMI employs nearly 2,000 people, with approximately 1,300 located at the main plant in Oklahoma City.
