American Baler Purchases Svedala-Lindemann, Unveils T-Rex
American Baler Company of Bellevue, OH has purchased the baler business of Svedala-Lindemann Limited, Telford, England and Lindemann Recycling Equipment of Charlotte, NC. The Lindemann product line offers high production single ram balers with both vertical and horizontal tying, as well as two-ram balers.
The newly acquired business will be named Lindemann American Baler Limited with its manufacturing facility located in Telford, England. The Charlotte operation will be merged into the Ohio plant and provide parts and service to existing Lindemann customers. The American Baler product and the newly acquired Lindemann two-ram baler will be manufactured in Ohio and will be sold under the American Baler name.
American Baler also announced that it has manufactured and delivered the largest baler in its 55-year history. The baler is a custom-engineered T-Rex model designed to increase production at Dalton Enterprises, an independent waste management facility in Anaheim, CA.

The T-Rex features an extra large 80-in. by 70-in. hopper that readily accepts large quantities of bulky materials. A pre-press ram increases incoming waste compression and eliminates the problem of binding and stalling. A custom 12-in. diameter hydraulic cylinder replaces the standard 10-in. cylinder to deliver more than 339,000 lb of compression force. The powerful cylinder presses two rams against the waste, producing an evenly compacted bale of old corrugated containers (OCC) that can weigh up to 3,500 lb. Heavier, denser bales allow operators to reduce wire use, move fewer bales and fit more bales per load when transporting.
Most of the balers manufactured by American Baler are custom-designed for a variety of applications including plastic, paper, boxboard, textiles, metals and other materials, as well as for use at recycling facilities. For more information, see www.americanbaler.com.
