EMCON/OWT Named EPG Field Service Support Representative

Baton Rouge, Louisiana, February 11, 2003 - The Shaw Group Inc. (NYSE: SGR) ("Shaw" or "the Company") today announced that its solid waste division, EMCON/OWT, Inc., has been named a factory-certified Field Service Support Representative for EPG Companies Inc.'s (EPG) line of landfill leachate pumps and control systems. EMCON/OWT will supply factory-trained and certified technicians to service pump systems at landfills around the United States. EPG pump systems are now operating in more than 500 landfills in 20 countries.
