Flame-Trol

The LFG Specialties "Flame-Trol" family of flare controllers are technically advanced fully integrated 100% automatic devices that provide the operator full flexibility to set or change the process variables utilized in the automatic operation of our flares.

LFG Specialties "Flame-Trol" controllers are unique in the industry, as all of our controllers come standard with the ability to completely bypass the automatic controls and operate the flare manually.

The Flame-Trol family of controllers include:
Flame-Trol I (Relay based controller for utility/candlestick flares)
Features

• Ultraviolet Flame Scanner—

provides flame confirmation during automatic start-up and flare safety shutdown upon loss of flame.
• Temperature Controller—provides back-up safety shutdown upon loss of flame, turns the blower on when appropriate, turns the pilot fuel off after ideal burning temperature has been reached and features a constant temperature read out. .
• Pilot Timer and Failure Indicators—provide control for the propane pilot fuel and provide a failure indicator if the propane is exhausted or fails to achieve proper temperature. .
• Down Time Timer—provides the operator with a set time after a shutdown for the system to remain down in order to allow the wellfield to rejuvenate. .
• Igniter Timer—provides control of the igniter spark duration.
• Manual/Auto Switch—provides the operator the ability to completely bypass the automatic controls and operate manually. This allows the operator to trouble shoot or operate the system in case relays/PLC need repair.

Flame-Trol II (Relay and PLC controller for enclosed flares)
Same as Flame-Trol I plus:
Features

• Energy saving propane pilot that operates only during the ignition cycle. .
• Flare Chamber Temperature Controller—monitors and controls the temperature in the flare chamber and drives the automatic air louvers on the flare stack. Also provides settings for high and low temperature shutdowns. .
• Ultraviolet Flame Scanner— provides flame confirmation during automatic start-up and flare safety shutdown upon loss of flame. .
• Purge Timer—controls the length of time the purge blower operates in order to accomplish a complete purge of the flare chamber. .
• Main Header Valve Indicators— indicate valve fully open or fully closed. .
• Key Lock Switch—a primary safety, cutting power to the panel when locked. .
• Emergency Shut-Down—a large, red, panel mounted button that when pressed will immediately shut-down the flare, stop the blower, and close the main header valve. .
• Temperature Recorder— constantly records the flare chamber temperature, as well as one other user defined parameter such as gas flow. .
