Flygt Introduces Most Powerful Banana Blade Mixer

VCBC

Trumbull, CT - Flygt first developed "banana" blade mixers in 1984, to improve efficiency when large volumes of water needed to be circulated. Recently added to their mixer line is the 4460 mixer. With an 8.4 HP drive, this new mixer is capable of producing as much as a third more thrust per machine than the next most powerful mixer, the 4430 model. This higher capacity mixer provides customers a more cost effective solution for large flow applications, as fewer machines can be used.

Like its sister products, the 4410 and 4430 mixers, the 4460 is based on Flygt's extensive experience in the design and manufacturing of submersible equipment. Motors are high quality squirrel cage design, using Class H insulation, applied by trickle impregnation for a winding fill of more than 95%. High efficiency, in-line, parallel helical reducers are used. These reducers have a minimum service factor of 1.5 and the designs meet both AGMA and ISO requirements.

Motor and reducer housings are of ASTM A48-76 cast iron. Several coatings are available to meet the requirements of different applications. The strong, fiberglass reinforced polyurethane blades are made using the latest material bonding technology and feature a unique swept back design to allow rags and stringy material to slide off and leave the blades clear.
