Oak Brook, IL – Among the latest product enhancements from Federal Signal is an automated vehicle and function tracking tool called FleetMinder™. Through an alliance with FleetBoss Global Positioning Solutions®, Federal Signal now offers this system as a customized option on all models of Leach and Wittke refuse collection units.
Incorporating a fully automated Global Positioning System (GPS) and mapping capabilities, FleetMinder monitors and records system components and functions when and where they occur. FleetMinder reports provide accurate records of machine usage and activity including dates, exact times and locations that vehicles start, drive, idle and stop. Reports on mileage, maximum speed, and vehicle input functions such as packing cycle operation and pump or PTO hours provide necessary information for preventative maintenance scheduling. This type of fleet usage data can also eliminate manual record keeping and unauthorized vehicle use, minimize billing errors, and improve route efficiencies.
