Inx-Systems Introduces SortMatic MSW-II, A Unique Automatic Optical Sorter for Recycling Of Source-Separated Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)
The Inx SortMatic MSW-II automatically sorts source-separated MSW into up to six user-selectable material groups, such as aluminum cans/foil, plastic containers, newspaper, yard waste, steel cans and office paper, by CWR's color-coded resource bags. SortMatic MSW-II features compact, all-in-one design and high throughput thanks to its two integrated sorting conveyors, both equipped with dual-action diverters for each sorted material group. The sorter is cost-effective since a single color scanner module covers both sorting conveyors and one SortMatic MSW-II unit can sort MSW into up to six material groups.
Sorted MSW can be sold and/or recycled to new products. Source-separation provides cleaner and higher quality/value materials than other recycling methods. The sorter saves labor costs by eliminating the need for manual sorting and communities can select sorted material groups that best satisfy their needs. SortMatic MSW-II-based recycling systems use existing collection bins and trucks and provide safer and healthier conditions for those working in collection, at waste transfer stations and MRFs by minimizing exposure to unbagged MSW.
