Metal Management, Inc. integrates Pittsburgh, PA operations into one division
Metal Management, Inc., one of the nation's largest full service scrap metal recyclers, announced today the integration of their Riverside, PA and Elizabeth, PA operations into one division. Both locations will remain open but operate as one profit center buying, processing and selling both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Previously, each location operated independently of the other.
This move eliminates management positions and administrative costs. In addition, MTLM Pittsburgh will be able to operate more efficiently and service more customers. Contract services will be eliminated and moved in house. Buying and selling operations as well as transportation arrangements for truck, rail and barge will be centralized. All of these are integral in advancing Metal Management's efforts to emerge from the Chapter 11 reorganization and continue providing revenue growth and market share gains.
Dennis O'Loughlin President of Metal Management Pittsburgh stated "This is an exciting time and the right time to make the move. Not only will the integration contribute significant cost savings and operational improvements, but it also allows us to focus our entire sales team on the full array of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Our consumers as well as the dealer and industrial accounts benefit".
Nick Katsafanas will be Vice-President of Metal Management Pittsburgh with full trading responsibility. Most recently he was manager of the Riverside location.
