Millennium Waste Incorporated Offers Landfill Services To Rock Island Residents

Rock Island citizens may dispose of solid and yard waste at the landfill on Saturday mornings.

Rock Island, IL - Quad Cities waste and recycling company Millennium Waste has a cooperative agreement with the city of Rock Island for residents to dispose of solid waste and yard waste at the landfill on Saturday mornings from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm only.

“We really want to help the City of Rock Island Municipal Services Department help the residents in meeting their disposal needs,” said Dominic Remmes, District Manager of Millennium Waste Incorporated “We understand that sometimes people can’t take time during the week to take care of projects that involve hauling waste.”

There are some basic rules under this agreement. Loads must be covered or tarped, uncovered loads will not be accepted. A valid, unexpired state or federal identification must be presented, ensuring Rock Island residency.  Each load must be no larger that the bed of a full size pick-up (4’x8’x3’) and cannot be over the level of the truck bed.

There is a fee associated with this service of $10 per load, which is payable by visa, mastercard or cash.  No personal or business checks are accepted. Patrons should proceed to the scale at the landfill for instructions.

Remmes said, “The regular rules still apply to landfill drop off. Things like electronics, pesticides, propane tanks, tires and appliances cannot be dropped off, but residents can call and we can help point them in the right direction.”

Millennium Waste Incorporated also offers regular trash pick up services. If you would like to see the complete schedule, or for more information about the landfill, visit http://www.millenniumwasteinc.com/landfill.php.
