Using a combination of activated sludge, trickling filtration and forced air stripping, the BioStripper system reduces leachate organics. It has two stages, and only requires normally available electrical services. This system treats the leachate by recirculating it through a biomass cultured in the filtration units, which produces carbon dioxide and water as by-products. The entire system measures 15 ft long × 6 ft wide × 12 ft high.
