RTS continues commitment to growth and increased transparency across the waste and recycling industry
Recycle Track Systems (RTS) today announced a major deal with Enevo, Inc., the US-based subsidiary of Enevo Group, increasing RTS’s market growth in the Northeast, Midwest, and West regions and broadening its waste and recycling tracking capabilities. This is the company’s second major expansion since launching in 2015.
RTS will acquire a portion of Enevo, Inc.’s customers and incorporate Enevo’s proprietary smart waste container sensors and monitoring software features into its robust technology services platform. The platform provides solutions including hauler geolocation routing, real-time collection notifications, data-driven landfill diversion reporting, and on-demand removals through an app.
“Enevo closely aligns with our technology and sustainability-based vision, and its products and services have had a worldwide impact on reducing waste,” RTS CEO Greg Lettieri said. “We’re very excited about the integration of their best-in-class sensor analytics into our platform which will enable us to continue our focus on delivering a superior customer experience and technology-enabled transparency in waste collection, reduction, and disposal.”
Enevo Group, a global leading waste analytics and sensor technology company, uses patented IoT sensor technology and analytics software to help waste management companies and cities lower costs related to their waste production and achieve sustainability goals while increasing efficiency. Enevo Group expanded into the US in 2016 and primarily works with waste management companies and recyclers, as well as large waste generators in the retail, property management, restaurant, and municipal sectors.
In closing the transaction, RTS will assume service obligations for Enevo, Inc.’s commercial customers, including well-known franchise organizations AUF Wendy’s and ACG Texas – a leading IHOP restaurant operator. RTS will grow its operations in Colorado, California, Texas, Ohio, New Hampshire, and Maine, among other locations.
“We’re truly delighted to begin a deeper relationship with RTS in adopting our technology and providing them with tools that allows them to achieve better waste and recycling services for their customers,” Enevo Group CEO Fredrik Kekalainen said. “RTS and Enevo share a common vision of how waste and recycling services can be managed better through technology, data, and transparent services. We could not be happier with this new relationship and we’re looking forward to future growth together.”
Additionally, Kekalainen pointed out Enevo Group’s experience in the US with progressive-thinking businesses has given their development team crucial insight into service needs and vital improvements their technology solutions could provide haulers and customers. “We’re now happy to pass the day-to-day operations of managing waste services to the brilliant RTS team and continue supporting as a technology supplier.”
This deal will add value to RTS’s waste diversion and real-time tracking analytics, where the sensor software can support waste overflow monitoring and further optimize collection schedules. Letteri also noted that at a time when managing waste volume is increasingly critical, the ability to apply sensor technology to any container will be essential to improving safe waste handling practices. “As commercial businesses and communities continue to make adjustments to their waste services as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, having predictive data to anticipate fill levels, keep facilities clean, and reduce pickups will benefit hauler and client operations and costs.”
