Safety Sorb is a solution for spills of volatile hydrocarbons such as gasoline, racing fuel, airplane fuel, and other flammable solvents

Safety Sorb is a solution for spills of volatile hydrocarbons such as gasoline, racing fuel, airplane fuel, and other flammable solvents. The product stops the spread of a spill and gathers the spilled liquid into a solid mass, which is easily and safely collected for transport and disposal. What makes the product different is from other adsorbents is that dangerous, flammable vapors are suppressed. Worker safety is improved. After use, the product can be incinerated; all ingredients are non-toxic and biodegradable.

Safety Sorb is unique because it incorporates a high molecular weight long chain polymer with a common adsorbent. The polymer yields the following benefits:

  • Immobilizes spill
  • Prevents vapor ignition
  • Locks in spilled liquid
  • Adsorbs four times its weight in oil or solvent
  • High BTU, low ash for incineration

It is applied by evenly spreading the adsorbent material over the spill area. The active polymer embedded in the adsorbent immediately binds with the spilled fuel or solvent, thus containing the spill. An important feature is that any dangerous, flammable vapors are neutralized.

Safety Sorb is a dry powder made up of 100% non-toxic, biodegradable components. The shelf life is indefinite in the container in which it is supplied. It is supplied in six gal. plastic pails (14 lb) and 30 gal. fiber drums (75 lb). Both containers can be reused for removal of recovered spill residue. Drums are DOT approved for transport to EPA-approved incinerators.
