Waste Management names Lois B. Martin Vice President of Total Rewards

Waste Management, Inc. announces the appointment of Lois B. Martin as Vice President of Total Rewards.

Ms. Martin will be responsible for the Company's compensation, benefits and work life programs as well as the management of the HR information systems. She will report to Robert E. Dees, Jr., Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer.

"We're all very excited to have Lois joining the People Team at Waste Management. She has a terrific background with a deep and wide base of experience in multiple industries," said Dees. "Ensuring that we continue to provide excellent rewards and recognition programs for our company will be a key objective for Lois. Ms. Martin joins Waste Management from BMC Software, Inc. where she was Director, Human Resources Services and held responsibility for the strategy, design, development and implementation of all compensation and benefit programs worldwide. Prior to BMC Software, Martin was Vice President, Compensation and Employment for Darden Restaurants in Orlando, Fla. In addition, she held positions of Director, Compensation and Benefits for Cemex, USA, in Houston, Texas, and was Director, Compensation for Pennzoil Company in Houston.

Ms. Martin earned a bachelor's degree in education from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and was Chairperson of the Board of the American Compensation Association from 1998-99.
