WELGARD Membrane Well Seal is a 100-ft.² impermeable membrane attached to the well casing with a flexible boot. It is designed to aid in limiting the flow of air, wastewater, and landfill gas between the exterior and interior of the landfill through the well bore. Limiting these hazards is extremely important in preventing subsurface fires, well destruction, and emissions violations. Limiting air intrusion also helps maximize the vacuum applied to the well field, thus increasing the performance of the system.
The seal consists of a one-piece 10-ft. x 10-ft. membrane with a continuous 28-in. boot for attachment to the well casing. The membrane and boot are made of high quality virgin PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or HDPE (high-density polyethylene) material, 30mm thick. The boot is approximately two times the diameter of the well casing and is permanently bonded to a PVC sliding compression fitting that attaches to the well casing, allowing easy adjustment of the boot.
